FIRST trip to 30A

The Local 30A Logo
LIFE SHINES on 30A, a 20-mile scenic shore tucked quietly between Destin and Panama City Beach, Florida. Speckled with artsy villages, rare coastal dune lakes, upscale resorts, funky beach bars, world-class restaurants and 25,000 acres of protected habitats, Florida's Scenic Highway 30A is the birthplace of "New Urbanism" and is also home to the most beautiful beaches in the world.
We made stops in Grayton Beach & Seaside

Our FIRST Stop Grayton Beach

Grayton Beach is one of 30A's oldest and most beloved communities, Grayton Beach is a true Gulf Coast original. Populated with historic cottages, twisting oak trees, quaint shops and galleries, and fun and quirky residents (the community's unofficial slogan is "Nice dogs, strange people"), Grayton Beach is also the only place in the region where you can drive a 4WD vehicle directly out onto the sand (but only with a proper permit!).

Grayton Beach
We stopped and enjoyed breakfast at the Hibiscus Coffee and Guesthouse. A true local treasure, Hibiscus is a quirky favorite with locals and long-timers alike. It may indeed be a "Vegetarian Breakfast Cafe" but meat-lovers never know what they're missing. Plus it’s a great place to skim the morning paper in the Backyard of Love.

Our Next stop was Seaside Florida

Seaside Florida was made famous by the Truman Show with Jim Carey and has grown to a beloved beach destination for those who want more than high rise condos and amusement parks. But really the Seaside style is Sunlight glowing through white cotton curtains, as they blow into a room… caressed by ocean breezes, a soft rope hammock in the shade of a wide porch… the comfortable elegance of cotton sundresses and sun-bleached straw hats... screened porches and white picket fences... the taste of crabs caught at the ocean’s edge…this is Seaside style. Now an adjective for architecture, interior design, fashion and food, Seaside style means simple, natural, timeless. Seaside style is more than design. It is a way of life. Or so the story goes.  We had an amazing time exploring the farmers market, shops, beaches and restaurants.

Our FIRST flowers and BBQ gift

We received the cutest delivery today from Landon and Alison! Thank you both so  much for thinking of us and man do you know us... flowers for me and the mini BBQ for Adam!

Thanks again and we can't wait for you both to come out and play!

The FIRST pictures of Adam's office

Adam's office has been done for quite sometime. However, it's been rather hard to get a descent pictures of the office do in part to it being the "Man Cave" (not really clean enough for a picture) and because of our wonderful roof leak.... Pictures of that will come on another day. Anyways, I love Adam's office, it is so functional and so him.
DISCLAIMER I will take all of the blame from any of the boys out there who are reading our blog, I, Me, yes, his proud wife, is the one that put the awards and medals on the wall Not Adam. Let me repeat that NOT Adam! So you can give me, his proud wife, a hard time and not him for having a big head, or trying to brag.

Here are the before and after pictures of Adam's office....
Before, that blue on the bottom is the color of painters tape, really it is was that bright!

The fish wall paper is finally off!

AFTER, Mac loves to sleep under the desk

After
We are missing pictures of the other wall... once we have the ceiling fixed from the water leek we will post some more pictures.

They do exist!!!.......The FIRST F-35

They do exist!  The first Air Force version of the F-35 is here. Sources say that the Air Force will get a Jet or two a month for the time being and that the Marine Corps should be getting their first F-35 in late 2011. We were just excited to see that this jet is in fact real and not the unicorn many were thinking that it was.

Our FIRST 4th of July in Florida!

We had a great 4th of July! We took the boat out for the first time, we watched fire works, and we even lit/ let off our own fireworks. Adam was one happy boy!
Happy 4th of July!

Our Fireworks, still so crazy that they sell them of every corner down here!

My Pyro Husband

The racing turtles... they were really slow. Go figure.

Dad, you would have been so proud I watered down all of the fireworks before we discarded them. Even toughed it out with all of the mosquitoes, hence the awesome shirt....

Our FIRST Boat!

Adam always said that the FIRST thing he was going to do once we got  down to Florida was teach me to fish. Well he kept his promise and we are fishing with the big kids on our new boat! We absolutely love our boat! There are times when I'm a little jealous of the boat because Adam loves it SO much!
Here is our FIRST boat and my FIRST fish!
